Tech Tip: Using SNI to allow multiple SSL domains on a single IP

    Lewis's picture

I recently started really thinking about the dwindling number of available IPv4 addresses and what we can do to use them more efficiently. One option that I had not revisited in a while is Server Name Indication (SNI). It is an extension to SSL/TLS, which enables sending of the domain being requested during initial negotiation of the secure connection, allowing web servers to be able to provide the correct security certificate for that domain, even if there are multiple domains on the same IP.

    How Important is Your Data?

    Kris's picture

Backups... While Cloud technology does provide redundancy, having a peace of mind that your data is safe is never a bad thing.

Our R1Soft backups do just that. They are an excellent way of providing you with a 3rd set of data stored on a server other than the one where your current information is located. In the event of a server failure, you will be glad to know that there is a copy of all your important files made with our R1Soft technology.

If you do not have R1Soft currently, ask us how we can set you up and make sure your data never goes away!

Unlimited is not unlimited, but overselling is not overloading

    jason's picture

You see it everywhere. The all you can eat buffet, unlimited cell phone plans, unlimited movie rentals, and just about every industry has in some way, shape, or form, UNLIMITED! The big benefit to this is the ease-of-use provided to the customer. No one wants to be bothered with the trouble of reaching the limits they are provided with, so unlimited provides an opportunity to create a sense of simplicity in products to allow the customer to focus on other things.

"As a home-based, freelance writer, my website is occupational oxygen. Without it, I'm dead. I'd been through several unsatisfying and downright aggravating hosts before I found Cloud Web. Not only have they saved me lots of money -- $20 a month -- they are, like oxygen, so reliable I take them for granted. I only wish Cloud Web could run my cable, my DSL, my phone and other technological aspects that are constantly intruding into my working hours. Cloud Web's the best."
